Out of Body Experiences: A Window into the Afterlife.

The Otherworldly Experience: A Journey into the Phenomenon of Out of Body Experience.

The concept of out-of-body experience (OBE) has been a matter of fascination for centuries. It is a phenomenon that has been reported by people across cultures and has been explored by various schools of thought. The experience involves the sensation of leaving one's body and traveling to other realms.

Seeing Loved Ones Under Anesthesia

I had an OBE myself during surgery. I met and talked to the deceased mother and grandmother of the caring nurse, who held my hand right before I fell asleep. I remembered every little detail when I woke up after the operation. If someone would have told me before the operation that I was going to have an OBE experience I would have freaked out. But during the whole experience, everything felt so normal to me and I wasn't scared at all. I wrote a blog about it.

During another operation, I saw my deceased grandfather, whom I love. He handed me a book upside down. It was a big, heavy medieval book with a thick dark brown leather cover. It looked like the curly letters were written in ink, just like the monks did centuries ago, in a language I didn't recognize. My grandfather said: I am going to keep you company during surgery. Can you see what the missing word is in this book? I saw blanc spots on most pages, and after a long time, I figured out the missing word. It was the word, LOVE. My grandpa nodded, closed the book, and I woke up.

The Mystical School of Thought

One of the earliest mentions of OBE can be found in ancient texts, where it was often described as a mystical experience. The mystical school of thought associates OBE with spiritual and religious experiences. In many cultures, it is believed that the soul can leave the body and travel to other realms during sleep or meditation. This experience is often associated with the attainment of spiritual enlightenment and self-realization.

The Scientific School of Thought

In modern times, OBE has been explored from a scientific perspective. Researchers have attempted to study the phenomenon using different methods, including brain imaging and subjective reports. The scientific school of thought posits that OBE results from complex neural processes in the brain. Some researchers believe that OBE may be a form of lucid dreaming, where the dreamer knows they are dreaming and can control their dreams.

The Experience of OBE

People who have experienced OBE often describe it as a surreal and otherworldly experience. They report feeling a sense of detachment from their physical body and a feeling of weightlessness. Some people report seeing their physical body from a different perspective, while others describe traveling to other realms and encountering entities or beings. The experience can be both exhilarating and terrifying, and people often report feeling changed after the experience.

Achieving OBE

There are various tactics and strategies that can be used to achieve an out-of-body experience. One of the most common methods is through meditation. By focusing on the breath and visualizing oneself leaving the body, some people are able to achieve an OBE. Another method is through lucid dreaming, where the dreamer becomes aware that they are dreaming and can control their dreams. Some people have also reported achieving OBE through the use of psychedelic substances, although this is not recommended due to the potential risks involved.

Impactful Figures in OBE

Throughout history, many individuals have reported experiencing OBE or have written about the phenomenon. One of the most famous examples is Carl Jung, the Swiss psychologist who wrote extensively on the subject. Another notable figure is Robert Monroe, who founded the Monroe Institute dedicated to exploring consciousness and OBE. His book "Journeys Out of the Body" is a classic in the field.

Out-of-body experience is a fascinating and complex phenomenon that various schools of thought have explored. Whether viewed as a spiritual experience or a scientific phenomenon, the experience can change how we view ourselves and the world around us. While achieving an OBE can be challenging, the experience can be transformative for those who are able to achieve it. As we continue to explore the mysteries of consciousness and the human mind, the phenomenon of OBE will continue to be an intriguing subject of study.
