Reading During Surgery
Welcome to Reading During Surgery, a profound true medium experience shared by me—Barbara, clairvoyant and medium.
In the winter of 2008, I encountered an out-of-body moment during an operation, a spiritual journey that forever transformed my understanding of soul and body.
True Medium Experience
Was this a near-death experience, as people often ask? No, it felt different—familiar, as if my soul always knew the freedom of transcending.
This authentic mediumship tale, straight from my heart, reveals why mediums forge powerful connections with the afterlife, offering comfort and insight through contact with the departed.
An Out-of-Body Encounter
As an experienced medium, I’ve lived through countless spiritual afterlife stories that bridge life and death.
This true medium experience, set in the winter of 2008, stands out as a moment of out-of-body connection during surgery.
Unlike the eerie real ghost stories, this narrative focuses on the soul’s journey, proving the eternal bond with the spirit world.

A Nervous Beginning
I’m no fan of surgeries—who is? In the winter of 2008, I lay nervously on a hospital bed, awaiting a small but necessary procedure.
The kind nurse beside me smiled warmly and asked, “Would you like me to hold your hand while you go under and wake up?”
Gratefully, I nodded; her presence felt like an anchor. She gripped my hand firmly with both of hers.
As the anesthesia took effect, I glanced at the clock: quarter past twelve. Exactly when my children had their lunch break at school.
Their faces flashed through my mind, and I wished I were with them instead of here.
A Journey Beyond the Body
The anesthesia pulled me under, and suddenly, I was no longer in my body. I didn’t see it, but I felt it a few meters below me—like a vehicle needing maintenance.
With absolute certainty, I knew I was alive. Was this a near-death experience, as some stories suggest? No, it felt different—familiar, as if out-of-body experiences were something my soul already knew.
As a clairvoyant, I’d often connected with the departed, but this was the first time I so clearly felt the distinction between my soul and physical form.
I moved at breathtaking speed through an infinite, dark space, like an astral journey. The velocity was tangible yet natural. No one was with me, yet I wasn’t afraid—unusual, since I typically dislike dark places.
My thoughts remained the same—my voice, my curiosity. “I’m still myself,” I marveled, zooming toward an unknown destination.
This spiritual afterlife story felt so pure, as if my soul had come home.
The Gray Room
Suddenly, I stood in a windowless room, the size of a spacious hospital elevator. The walls, floor, and ceiling were a dull gray, like unpainted primer. “What a boring color,” I thought. “Why not something cozy, like soft pink or lavender?”
Out of nowhere, two women appeared before me. Without doubt, I knew they were the mother and grandmother of the nurse holding my hand. The grandmother stood slightly behind the mother, smiling with warm eyes.
The mother, in a striking blue Chanel-like suit, spoke first. Her eyes were icy, devoid of warmth, but the grandmother radiated love, as if balancing the chill.
The mother relayed personal messages for her daughter, the nurse, and her son, her brother. She emphasized her pride and love for her daughter. I nodded silently, promising to pass it on.
We communicated without words, through thoughts, as mediums often experience during consultations. As I listened, I sensed thousands—perhaps hundreds of thousands—of similar rooms on either side, linked in a graceful string across the universe.
Some were occupied, others not. I knew these were places where souls could connect with the departed, a threshold between life and death. Behind the women, I felt heaven—a source of light, love, and abundance, so different from the heavy energy of Earth.
Back in the Body
Waking from anesthesia, I felt half-drunk, as often happens after surgery. The nurse still held my hand. I grasped it with my other hand and exclaimed, “I saw your mother! Your mother and grandmother!”
Half-dazed, I rattled off the messages, fearing they’d fade like a dream or astral journey. The surgeon raised an eyebrow, looking puzzled, but I couldn’t stop—it felt urgent. Soon, I drifted back to sleep, overwhelmed by the anesthesia.
In the recovery room, I awoke calmer. The nurse sat beside my bed, curtains drawn for privacy. “The surgery went well,” she said. “But my shift is ending, and I want to know what you saw.”
I saw her mother’s features in her face, blended with her grandmother’s warmth. “The whole ward is talking about you,” she smiled. I shared everything: the icy energy of her mother, the love of her grandmother, and the messages for her and her brother.
She listened with tears in her eyes. “I believe every word,” she said. “Especially how you describe my mother—that’s how I always knew her. Her behavior sent my brother and me to therapy for years. It’s healing to know she’s proud and loves me now. Maybe one day I can feel love for her too.”
This pure, unexpected spiritual afterlife story shows why mediums build powerful connections. As a clairvoyant, I know our soul journeys beyond our body, and love endures forever. Want to experience a medium reading yourself?
